Ostrich farming is very different from classic poultry farming, for example, chicken or turkey farms. Ostriches are always bred in free range, they are not given growth hormones and antibiotics.
The advantages of eating ostrich meat lie mainly in its unique chemical composition. It has an unusually low calorie content and contains a large amount of saturated fatty acids, which has a very positive effect on the normal functioning of the human body.
Ostrich fillet contains a lot of vitamins B, E and P. It also contains phosphorus, potassium, calcium, selenium, magnesium and iron. Ostrich meat has three times as much iron as the same amount of pork or chicken meat.
The selected fillet contains only 1.5-2% fat. There is only 32 milligrams of cholesterol for every 100 grams, and 22% protein.
The meat of this large bird belongs to the category of red meats. In appearance, it resembles wild and veal. Due to the lack of intramuscular fats, it has a particularly soft consistency.
Meat is specifically recommended for diabetics, people with high cholesterol and people with problems with the digestive and cardiovascular systems.
